Elizabeth Slater was in the first class at Mercy Montessori School in Walnut Hills. Now, many years after graduation, she works in the day care there.

"She wasn't having such a good time in her job before," said her sister, Fran. "So she called the school one day and just asked for a job."

A few times a year, during Everybody Counts week, she gives a presentation to students about herself and her disability. The kids love her.

In addition to speaking engagements, Elizabeth is a voracious writer and is working on a mystery novel called "Red Rose." She is also writing her autobiography. She's not sure when these works will be finished.

One of her other hobbies is dancing.

"She has an amazing sense of rhythm," Fran said, "She's never had training, either."

Elizabeth often dances during family gatherings, picking out songs and costumes for her performances.

"I just do it for fun," said Elizabeth. "I don't want to take classes of anything."

A huge Obama fan, Elizabeth convinced several of family members to vote for him this past election.

"I love Obama, I kept all the newspaper articles about him," she said.
